# Location catalog data

`location-catalog.json` is an adapted extract of the [Countries States Cities Database](https://github.com/dr5hn/countries-states-cities-database), licensed under the [Open Database License 1.0](https://opendatacommons.org/licenses/odbl/1-0/). The adapted catalog is provided under the same license. It retains country and first-level region names and representative coordinates for WorkDeck's approximate community map. Data by Countries States Cities Database and its attributed contributors, including GeoNames, OpenStreetMap contributors, and Wikidata. `world-land.geojson` is adapted from [Natural Earth 1:110m land](https://www.naturalearthdata.com/downloads/110m-physical-vectors/) and is public domain.

`world-countries.geojson` is adapted from [Natural Earth 1:110m admin-0 countries](https://www.naturalearthdata.com/downloads/110m-cultural-vectors/) and is public domain. It supplies country outlines and continent grouping. First-level region outlines on the map are approximate Voronoi areas derived from the catalog's representative coordinates, not official administrative boundaries.

Building markers are approximate regional placements, not home addresses or live user locations.
